It’s a common practice to bring someone a meal after they have lost a loved one. It shows great sympathy and care for those suffering loss and heartache. This practice is the foundation of our Funeral Dinner Ministry here at All Saints.

Here at All Saints, we offer to host a funeral dinner after every funeral.  All who attend the funeral are welcome to attend the dinner. Funeral Dinners give the families a chance to be surrounded by their loved ones in a time of need, and to partake in a hassle free meal where they are not responsible for cooking or cleaning a thing.

There is a process that ensures that the family doesn’t have to worry about a thing during the meal. It includes several volunteers to help set up tables, make sure the food is ready to be served, serve the food, socialize and offer comfort to the family, and clean up after the meal is finished. If you volunteer, we typically ask for about 3-4 hours of your time. Volunteers come an hour before the funeral is scheduled to start to ensure that everything will be ready to serve by the time the family arrives. Volunteers are asked to stay and help clean up after the meal has ended as well.

All of our funeral dinners are catered by Mr. Happy Burger, a well-known local restaurant, so volunteers don’t have to worry about cooking or providing main dishes. However, desserts, most often cakes, are provided by volunteers.
